An introduction to the use of LC-MS/MS, with an emphasis on the analysis of drugs in biological matrices. You will learn how a mass spectrometer works, the advantages (and limitations) of adding mass spectrometric detection to your liquid chromatographic analyses, and how to use MS to approach separation and detection problems intractable by other methods.
To achieve best results the practitioner needs to reconsider what may be common wisdom in LC and in MS alone but requires thoughtful compromise in LC-MS. Regardless of the industry, there are a few common areas of concern to all practitioners. This course is such a toolkit: a series of brief experientally derived key topics all practitioners should be highly conversant with.
